Student leadership provides an opportunity for students to actively participate in the decision-making processes at our school. Students are encouraged to take on leadership roles in an endeavour to increase their leadership skills and to act as effective role models for the student body. Our school believes that by encouraging student leadership we are developing community leaders of the future.
All Year 6 students engage in a Leadership Program and are provided with opportunities to take on responsibilities and be positive role models for the younger students in the school through:
- Being a buddy
- Leading a peer support group (anti-bullying initiative)
- Participating in a Leadership Committee eg. Liturgical, Creative Media, Environmental, Library and Music Monitors.
In addition, students are elected to the roles of School Captains, Prefects and House Captains.
The Schools Captains and Prefects lead the Student Representative Council (SRC) which includes two peer-elected representatives from each grade, Years 1–6. The SRC regularly meets with the Principal.
