History
As people of the heart, we at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School (OLR) Kensington continue the ministry of Jesus through the charism and traditions given to us by the daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. Our community draws its inspiration from the vision Father Jules Chevalier had for us, to make the Sacred Heart of Jesus known and loved everywhere.
The school was established in 1907 by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and staffed by the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, who came to Kensington in 1894. The Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart were unable to appoint a principal beyond 2001, therefore the first lay principal took leadership of the school in 2002.
The OLR story is built on history, tradition and heart. It is a story of belonging, growth and achievement. It will continue to be created, shared and passed on to future generations.
Vision
As partners in Catholic education, we at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School Kensington strive for excellence in education within a vital Christian community, where all will encounter Jesus and where life is cherished and celebrated. We will give witness to the Gospel message and hold precious the words of Jesus, ‘I have come that you may have life and have it to the full’ (John 10:10).
